Be aware- the smell in the bottle and upon initial application is misleading. Let it dry down and then make your judgement. It's really pleasant, to me, once dry/settled. Notes of West Indies bay leaf, sweet rum predominate. It does give a good burn initially as some of the other reviewers state- that is the menthol, I think. It lasts quite a while, about half a day in my case. It works fine for my skin, no problems and seems to fit the bill for calming irritation. There are some retailers online such as Maggard Razors (probably some others as well) that sell small samples of all of Fine Accoutrements' scents, so that's an option if you don't want to buy an entire bottle. Their American Blend is classic old-style barber shop smell and is also fantastic in my opinion.

Come tutti gli aftershave Fine lascia la pelle idratata, liscia e fresca grazie al mentolo. A differenza di altri AS Fine la fragranza è più lieve e meno persistente. La profumazione ricorda quella del Floid Blue con qualche differenza. Lo consiglierei per l'estate o primavera. Un ottimo prodotto come tutti quelli a marchio Fine.

Habe das Rasierwasser so gegen 17 Uhr bekommen und gleich ausprobiert. Der Duft ist einfach nur toll und sehr lange präsent. Mein Kopfkissen duftet herrlich nach Fine.Habe schon viele Rasierwasser ausprobiert die auch gut riechen aber leider nur kurz. Fine ist ja relativ teuer, aber es lohnt sich.Ich vergebe 5 Sterne 👍

Hace lo que cualquier loción alcohólica, sin tanto glamour y más barata, es un golpe de alcohol, con un levísimo olor a cítrico, los que dicen que recuerda a Aqua di Parma, debieron de beberlo en lugar de usarlo como aftershave, el hidrolato de hamamelis, es mucho mejor, la única ventaja es que los mezclo y así el hidrolato puro no me huele a infusión de plantas, además el alcohol, aunque se note su trabajo, ya no es tan agresivo con la piel.

I was very much anticipating the arrival of this aftershave as I have been doing research on many different brands. This brand however, was a bit disappointing, with its premium price tag in the lineup of other splash on aftershaves. I feel like it fell a bit short. The scent was nice, but not impressive, and did not linger anywhere near as long as I thought it would. When you wear an aftershave, you expect to be smelling good long after you shaved but this one seemed to dissipate in almost an hour after application. If you’re looking for a classic Barbershop smell and longevity to match its namesake, I would say stick to classics like clubman aftershave for they keep you smelling Barbershop fresh long after you shave!

First time purchase. Got the American blend. Very nice fragrance, wish it was a tad stronger.Only thing I'd say is that the price point is kind of high. This is worth more like $15-18 for a product like this.I think the company could do better on that without sacrificing quality and being American made.But I will absolutely try another scent one day.

It smells very good, very refreshing! It’s different from any aftershave or cologne I’ve used before. It’s very light not overpowering at all. The only negative is that it doesn’t stay with you very long, especially in hot weather and high humidity.

This really is FINE aftershave. Great post-shave performance, for example, cooling, toning, and leaving skin feeling refreshed. I got the Platinum scent as it is modeled after Creed's Aventus, which I have a sample of, love, and used for scent comparison. In terms of scent, this is definitely not a "cheap knock-off." To my nose, the smoky, fruit top-notes in Aventus are a bit more pronounced by comparison, but they're definitely there in the Fine Platinum. As the dry down occurs, the two scent profiles (Aventus and Fine Platinum) really start to merge, to the point I don't think I'd be able to distinguish unless I knew which one I had used. Silage and staying power are not as strong, BUT this is an aftershave. I still get a solid 3-4 hours, and this is a very friendly scent appropriate for any kind of setting, including work. I do have other aftershaves that have a stronger silage and lasting power, so I would give this the full five stars if Fine ever boosts the strength just a touch. It's pretty much perfect as is. Get it and I think you'll quickly find yourself using it in the morning, and touching up in the afternoon and evening as I do because it just feels good and smells awesome!

I was looking for an "old school" after shave. I just happened to stumble on this as I was scrolling a wet-shave products web site. I don't like the name "Fine", but I decided to try it. I was pleasantly surprised. Nice scent, nice sting. I will buy it again.

After reading a few other reviews, I ordered the Italian Citrus. As soon as you open the bottle the room is flooded with the scent of citrus and romance. I really don't know how to describe the scent other than to say it is absolutely amazing and very high-class--it makes you feel like you are sailing the Mediterranean on your yacht on a beautiful sunny day.The first time I wore it, my wife stopped dead in her tracks on the way out the door, turned, and said, "Wow, you smell so good." She lingered by me a few more moments before begrudgingly leaving for work. You will be sure to turn heads if you pick this scent, especially in the summertime.Beyond the female-attracting properties, the aftershave does an awesome job at cooling and toning your skin. The menthol stays cool on your face for nearly 30-45 minutes, and the scent lasts the whole day through.If you are unsure of what fragrance to try, you can go to Mr. Fine's website and get a sampler pack.*EDIT* Having done the sampler, here is a rundown on the other scents:American Blend--This scent is awesome. Smokey, clean, and refreshing. Again, this one gets the seal of approval from the ladies.Clean Vetiver--I don't like this one nearly as much as the Fresh Vetiver. Item is not returnable. ********* used to use a barber that used bay rum as a finish after a hair cut. This smells nothing like it. Honestly, it stinks. No where dues it say the item is not returnable and it shipped direct from Amazon.So I'm stuck with a $34 bottle of skunk stink.Horrible seller, horrible product. Zero value for your money. Do not buy items that can't be returned.

This product has a hint of cloves, which is very pleasant. I would hope they would put out the cologne for it also. When I bought it ,there wasn't any,that I knew of. Try it, Mr. Fine' s products are all great!! They are all I use, for my shaving needs.

Why only four ingredients?
The simplicity is intentional — each ingredient serves a specific purpose. Everything else either leaves residue (oils, balms, thickeners), masks symptoms (anti-inflammatories, moisturizers), or serves no purpose (fillers, artificial colors). Nothing is there just to look impressive on a label.
Why does it sting — and is that bad?
The alcohol sting is a sensation, not damage. It activates the same receptors that respond to heat and spicy food — there’s no actual tissue harm — and it fades in about 10–20 seconds as the menthol takes effect.
If the sting is intense and lingers, that’s diagnostic: your razor or technique is causing too much trauma. Try cold water, a single-blade razor, and lighter pressure.
Will it dry my skin?
No. Alcohol evaporates completely in seconds and leaves zero residue — it doesn’t strip oils. If your skin feels dry after shaving, the cause is a too-harsh shaving product, not the aftershave.
What’s the benefit of menthol?

Is Fine® for sensitive skin?

How do I use it, and how much?

Can I use it as a cologne?
You can, but it’s optimized for post-shave use — menthol is most relevant on freshly shaved skin. For a standalone fragrance, Fine® also makes Eau de Toilette (EdT) in the same scents, formulated as a proper spray cologne without menthol.
How long does the scent last?
Most of the day, and sometimes longer. Keep “olfactory fatigue” in mind — you may stop smelling your own fragrance while others still can. For longer-lasting projection, try the matching Fine® EdT.
